Pangyo Elementary Associate Principal Travis Peterson recounts a KIS Thanksgiving tradition.
In the United States, Thanksgiving is a hugely important day, as it signals the start of the Holiday Season. It’s full of familiar traditions including turkey, football games, and the Macy’s Parade. Here at KIS, the Grade 3-5 Talent Show has become a Thanksgiving tradition, even more cherished than pumpkin pie topped with loads of whipped cream!
This year’s show was a feast for the eyes and ears—a veritable cornucopia of talent to enjoy! Acts ranged from violin pieces to gymnastic routines. While the performers dazzled us with their playing and perseverance, the audience (aka the rest of the ES student body) impressed us with their politeness. They sat, for nearly two hours, enraptured by each amazing performance, and they gave enthusiastic encouragement to each and every child who graced the stage.
All of us who get to work and learn at this great school have bushels of things to be thankful for, and the talent show makes that impossible to deny. It really is the perfect Thanksgiving tradition!
