KIS Gives Back

The holiday season is fast approaching and our KIS Pangyo Student Councils in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as our Service Opportunities Team are already thinking about how we can give back to our community. On November 6th, we kicked off our first Suji Love Resource Drive of the 2017-2018 school year. This wonderful event occurs twice a year, and gets the entire KIS community involved in collecting food for those in need! It also serves to reinforce our KIS Sustainable Service Pillars of Charity and Volunteerism.

Suji Love is a local charity organization that provides school supplies, food, and other basic necessities to families living in poverty in the Suji area. “People in our community are like our family, so it’s important for us to be kind to them,” said Student Council ambassador Elyse (Grade 3).

Last year, we were able to donate to more than sixty families in the Suji area! We feel confident that our student body will work just as hard to collect food for this month’s drive. We will be delivering our donations on November 23, just in time for American Thanksgiving!

Pangyo Elementary School’s food drive finished November 10th. We were able to collect over 1,000 non-perishable food items! In middle and high school, the Suji Love Resource Drive will continue to run until November 23rd. Let’s show empathy and provide necessities to families in our local community.
